Part 2
Sam's work is based around the destructive and alternative side of viewing photographs. His work is linked with the degeneration of memory. During his time in university Sam uses the chemical disruption of photographic materials to depict his understanding of brain malfunction and memory loss. His earlier work sees a more abstract and completely destroyed catalogue of images, showing no remnants of photographic identity whatsoever. Sam wanted to create artistic representations of memory loss and amnesia in a photographic context. His work is currently very abstract and questions what is photography.
“How far can one manipulate, before a photograph is no longer seen as a photograph”.
POLAROVID - demonstrates an artistic interpretation of memories slowly dissipating into a void of white mass.
